Today, thousands of vehicles bearing the IAG logo are operating in some of the most hostile zones in the world are a testament to the class leading quality that IAG’s clients have come to expect from us over the years. Our exclusive SmartArmor ™ technology featured on our entire product portfolio has a proven track record, with regards to defeating the most typical, as well as the rarest of attacks. Our safety record is second to none with designs amongst the best in the industry today.
Over the years, IAG has put in multi-million dollar investments into purchasing state-of-the-art machinery such as CNC laser cutting and bending technology in order to enhance our in-house manufacturing capabilities.
The TRUMPF laser cutting and bending machines enable our team of engineers to design, cut and manipulate pieces of ballistic steel and other armoring components specifically for each vehicle model. The TruLaser 3030 flat sheet laser cutter increases the speed, versatility, and precision of our production process with technology such as rapid changeovers and setup features as well as compatibility with advanced automation. The TruBend 5230 bending machine enables our technicians to handle long, thick metal sheets and achieve long bends even when dealing with tight and acute angles.
In addition, our production plant also has advanced coordinate-measuring machines and sand blasting capabilities, which is used to smooth the surface of the opaque armoring in preparation to apply coating. Our FaroArm Platinum measuring arm allows our engineers to make high precision measurements of complex objects in order to produce armoring designs to fit the exact dimensions of each specific vehicle model. These capabilities are essential to fabricating armoring components for high quality armored vehicles IAG was one of the first companies in the world to undertake the independent testing and certification conducted by Beschussamt Mellrichstadt, a world renowned testing facility in Germany. The BRV 2009 VR7 Land Cruiser 200 Convoy® was shot over 430 times from all angles by 7.62 × 51 mm FJ/PB/SC and 5.56 × 45 mm SS109 ammunition and successfully defeated all rounds 100% (no penetration was recorded). In addition, the underside of the vehicle was blast tested against 2xDM51 German hand grenades simultaneously detonated, 1xHG85 Swiss fragmentation grenade and 1xDM-31 Anti-tank land mine with zero recorded deformation (all occupants would survive). Lastly, the vehicle was subjected to an IED-simulation side blast, which involved 12.5KG of PETN (17 KG TNT equivalent) detonated 4 meters (13 ft) from the side of the vehicle. Zero deformation was recorded in the vehicle, pressure within cabin remained within norms (all occupants would survive).
